For some reason I no longer recall I didn't employ my camera much as we left Prince Rupert. Consequently, I missed a number of photos; happily Paul didn't.
So he captured the container port as we passed, leaving the harbour.
While we were having supper, the sun came out partially, and he got several lovely shots of the Green Island Light, at the point the ship leaves Canadian waters.
He also captured Sandy and me, clearly in holiday mode, and I photographed Sandy reading in the lower bunk of our very pleasant cabin.
Apparently we spent five hours in Ketchikan that night, but we were asleep at the time, so we missed that.
Next morning, however, we supervised the docking at Wrangell, which is probably lovelier when it's not obscured by cloud. We passed the MV Columbia, sister ship to the MV Matanuska on her reverse journey, and then picked our way through Wrangell Narrows to Petersburg on Mitkof Island, where the Narrows meets Frederick Sound.
Where Frederick Sound and Stephens Passage meet is the historic Five Fingers Light.
That night we were in Juneau, but again missed that, not so surprising, as we were back on land shortly after 5:45AM just outside of Haines, Alaska.
We drove through the drizzle into town, parked at the Visitors' Information Center, made breakfast, arranged for some internet time at the nearby Alaska Power and Telephone offices, and, when the stores eventually opened, bought some provisions for our trip back into Canada.
